On 9 April 2014 in Gdansk was held the first meeting of the Central European Rotation Group (CERG) under the chairmanship of the Republic of Poland.
The delegations representing the Aviation Authorities of the Member States met in Gdansk to discuss their cooperation. The participants were: Mrs Lyudmila Trenkova from Republic of Bulgaria, Mr Zdeněk Jelínek and Tomas Pustina from the Czech Republic, Ms Júlia Miczki from Hungary, Mr Catalin Radu – DGCA of Romania and simultaneously the President of ECAC, Mrs Radmila Valíčková from the Slovak Republic, Mr Alojz Krapež from the Republic of Slovenia and the Representative of the Republic of Poland on the Council of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Dr Małgorzata Polkowska and Mr Piotr Ołowski – the President of the Civil Aviation Authority. The partner of the event was the Gdansk Airport.
During the Meeting Dr Polkowska reported on activities of ICAO Council and its bodies, and presented outcome of the ICAO Diplomatic Conference to Consider Amending the Tokyo Convention of 1963. The participants also discussed the topics regarding the cooperation among member states.
CERG Chairman is Mr. Piotr Ołowski – President of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Republic of Poland. Poland has been a member of the Central European Rotation Group (CERG) since 2009. CERG Member States also are: Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary.
Those countries candidate in rotation in the following election to the Council under the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation and Representation on the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organisation of 1 December 2011, which established the rules for cooperation and representation of the rotation in the region of Central and Eastern Europe.
