Consultation meeting on Performance Plan for Baltic FAB air navigation services for the years 2015-2019

On 15 May 2014 at the Civil Aviation Authority was held a consultation meeting was held on the Performance Plan for Baltic Functional Airspace Block air navigation services for the years 2015-2019. The meeting was attended by numerous representatives of international and national  aviation entities. The final version of the document after the analysis of the proposals will be published on the CAA website.

The document refers to four key areas of effectiveness, set by the European Commission: safety, capacity, environment and cost-effectiveness taking into account wide performance objectives. The objectives have been proposed at the level of the Baltic FAB for all four key areas and will eventually be approved by the Board of the Baltic FAB.

The meeting was opened by the Director of the Department of the Air Navigation of Civil Aviation Authority Mr Wiesław Bączewski, who welcomed the participants on behalf of the President of the CAA and introduced the purpose of the meeting. The meeting was conducted by representatives of the Polish and Lithuanian national aviation authorities.

The meeting was attended by many representatives of international and domestic aviation industry, including: Polish and Lithuanian air navigation services providers, trade unions of air traffic services, air carriers (including associations of air carriers - IATA, AEA) and airports.

The draft Performance Plan for Baltic FAB and in particular the proposed targets have been discussed with national and international aviation environment. A number of observations and conclusions have been made. Those observations will be the subject of analysis and the actions taken will be listed in the final version of the plan, which after approval will be published on the website of the CAA. Some remarks have been notified prior to the meeting and further comments can be still delivered to the CAA until 23 May 2014.
