The tasks of the MET Inspectorate

The tasks of the MET Inspectorate include:
1. certification of meteorological service providers (MET);
2. ongoing supervision of institutions providing MET;
3. conducting matters related to the operation and functioning of aviation ground facilities in the field of MET.


In this respect, the tasks of LOŻ-5 include:
1) planning, organization and performance of inspection activities related to certification and supervision of the institutions referred to in points 1 and 2, including keeping a register of inspections performed and maintaining a register of non-compliances found as part of the supervision;
2) supervision over the implementation of post-audit conclusions and corrective programs regarding irregularities identified as part of the supervision;
3) monitoring the implementation of regulations and requirements by institutions providing MET services and supervising their compliance;
4) supervision over the interoperability of MET systems;
5) supervision over the security of software used in MET systems that are part of EATMN by air navigation service providers;
6) maintaining a register of MET air ground equipment;
7) monitoring the implementation of the requirements of documents containing international regulations regarding MET and agreeing on proposals for amendments and changes to:
a) Annex 3 to the Convention - "Meteorological services for international air navigation",
b) the documents of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) referred to in Annex 3 to the Convention;
8) participation in the work of task forces and working groups in the MET area, in particular participation in the work of ICAO groups in the area of VOLCEX and MET WG and MET/SWIM.
