The first meeting of the Security and Facilitation in Civil Aviation Council in the new composition

On 15 January 2014 at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development was held the first meeting of the Security and Facilitation in Civil Aviation Council with new members. At the invitation of Mr. Zbigniew Rynasiewicz Secretary of State in the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development, the meeting was attended by President of the Civil Aviation Authority Mr. Piotr Ołowski. In his speech, Mr. President pointed out the importance and status of the tasks carried out by the Council and pledged full commitment of the CAA of the substantive cooperation with the Council.

The meeting was also attended by employees of the Department of Civil Aviation Security and Facilitation, who have been appointed as members of the Council.

During the meeting were elected the Chairman of the Council - Mr. Marek Kachaniak, Director of the Department of Aviation in the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development, Vice Chairman - Mr. Adam Borkowski, Director of the Department of Security and Facilitation of Civil Aviation, Civil Aviation Authority and Secretary of the Council - Mrs. Anna Jankowska, Specialist on Facilitation of the Department of Security and Facilitation of Civil Aviation, Civil Aviation Authority.

The Security and Facilitation of Civil Aviation Council works on behalf of the minister responsible for transport on the basis of Art. 19. Paragraph 1 of the Act of 3 July 2002 - Aviation Law as a consultative and advisory body. It is composed of representatives according to Art.19 Paragraph 2 and 3 of the Aviation Law.

In accordance with Art. 19 Paragraph 5 of the Act, the Council's task include in particular:

1. review of the National Civil Aviation Security Programme;
2. initiating and developing a position on issues and mediating in the exchange of opinions and experiences regarding the protection of civil aviation;
3. developing a position on issues of civil aviation security indicated by the minister responsible for transport;
4. review of the National Facilitation in the Scope of Civil Aviation Programme;
5. initiating and developing a position on issues and mediating in the exchange of opinions and experiences regarding the facilitation of civil aviation, in particular the removal of unnecessary restrictions and simplification of administrative procedures;
6. evaluating of positions on matters of facilities designated by the minister responsible for transport.
