Unmanned aerial vehicles, commonly called "drones" are becoming more popular around the world. In Poland also we are seeing increased interest in these devices, especially among those flying for leisure. Unfortunately, most of recreational users do not have basic knowledge of aviation, and are not aware that drones are subject to the provisions of aviation law and could pose a threat to air traffic. What is more, for breaking those rules there are the criminal sanctions, including even imprisonment. That is why President of the CAA issued the above mentioned recommendation. "Flying drone can be fun for the whole family, but is also associated with high responsibility. Therefore it is important that the users is aware of the responsibility at the time of purchase and that they must respect the basic rules of safe flying”- emphasized the President of the CAA.

Guidelines on informing the users of unmanned aerial vehicles on the principles of safe conduct of flights were also distributed by the CAA to the companies involved in the production and sales of "drones" in Poland. The guidelines came into force on the day of its publication on 6 August 2015.
