EASA and CAA Workshop on the regulations of commercial air transport and flight time limitations

On 15 and 16 May 2014 at the Łazarski University the Workshop on the provisions of Commission Regulation (EU ) No 965/2012 relating to commercial air transport airplanes and helicopters (CAT - Part- ARO , ORO , CAT and SPA) and the limitations of flight and duty time (FTL) was held. The Workshop was organized by the President of the Civil Aviation Authority and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

The workshop was opened by Mr Maciej Kozłowski acting Vice President of Aviation Standards. The two-day workshop was attended by representatives of air carriers, flight training organizations from Poland and the Central and Southeastern Europe. The workshop was conducted in English by EASA representatives. The speakers were Mr Daniel Coutelier and Mr Giovanni Cima - EASA Specialists and Mr Albert Ortyl – Director of Flight Operations Department at the Civil Aviation Authority.

The workshop aim was to clarify concerns regarding the regulations and answers to questions that have been submitted to the CAA before the Workshop. During the meeting the regulations related among others to the following areas were presented: certification, changes requiring prior approval, leasing, code-share, safety management, helicopters and airplanes operations, flight and duty time limitations. Workshop participants asked questions and have taken active part in the discussion.

The meeting was preceded by the annual Conference on Civil Aviation Safety in commercial air transportation (CAT).
