In the Official Journal of the Republic of Poland, under item 909, a Regulation of the Council of Ministers of May 21, 2020 on flight ban was published. It prolongs the flight ban for international flights till June 6 and for domestic flights till May 31. The Regulation entered into force on May 24, 2020.
The flight ban refers to civil aircraft performing international flights with passengers and landing on airports entered into the civil airports register and airfields on the Republic of Poland’s airfield list, except for:
• cargo flights;
• flights without cargo and passengers;
• flights with the HOSP, HUM, STATE and HEAD status, as well as other flights performed in order to save people’s life or health (e.g. flights with the RESCUE parole);
• flights performed in order to protect public order (e.g. with the GUARD parole);
• flights to the Republic of Poland performed by aircraft chartered at the order of tour operators or an entity acting at their order before March 15, 2020;
• flights at the order of the Prime Minister or at the order of a natural or legal person performed with aircraft with up to 15 passenger seats.
Also charter flights performed by foreign flight operators at the order of foreign states in order to repatriate their citizens and flights of aircraft in distress are not covered by this ban.
Till May 31, 2020 commercial domestic flights with passengers are banned, except for flights:
• performed in the public or state interest; and
• commercial flights performed by aircraft with up to 15 passenger seats landing in order to take or disembark passengers.
