Extension of International Flights Ban till August 11

In the Official Journal of the Republic of Poland under item 1311 a Regulation of the Council of Ministers of July 28, 2020 on flight bans was published. It prolongs the international flights ban till August 11, 2020.

 

The Regulation enters into force on July 29, 2020 and is valid till August 11, 2020.

The flight ban refers to international flights with passengers to airports entered into the civil airports register and to airfields on the list of airfields of the Republic of Poland, except for:

• flights with the HOSP, HUM, STATE, HEAD status, other flights performed in order to save people’s life or health (e.g. with the RESCUE parole),
• flights performed to protect public order (e.g. with the GUARD parole),
• flights performed to the Republic of Poland with aircraft chartered at the order of tour operators or an entity acting at their order before March 15, 2020,
• flights performed at the order of the Prime Minister or a natural person or a legal person with aircraft with up to 15 passenger seats,
• charter flights performed by foreign operators which are going to be performed at the order of foreign states in order to repatriate their citizens and flights of aircraft in distress,
• flights performed for the needs of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland and foreign troops within the meaning of the Act of September 23, 1999 on the rules of stay of foreign troops on the territory of the Republic of Poland and the rules of their movement through this territory (the Official Journal of the Republic of Poland, 2018, item 2110) performing tasks on the territory of the Republic of Poland.

The above mentioned ban does not apply to aircraft performing international flights to Poland from airports located on the territory of:
• a member state of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) – parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation or a European Union Member State, except for the Kingdom of Sweden, the Portuguese Republic and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg,
• the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, Georgia, Japan, Canada, the Kingdom of Morocco, the Kingdom of Thailand, New Zealand, the Republic of Albania, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Korea, the Republic of Rwanda, the Republic of Tunisia, the Republic of Turkey, Ukraine, the Eastern Republic of Uruguay and the Commonwealth of Australia.
