Negotiations for an agreement between the government of the Republic of Poland and the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on air communications took place at the headquarters of the Polish Civil Aviation Authority on July 28-29, 2022. The Polish delegation was led by Piotr Samson - President of the Civil Aviation Authority, and the Saudi delegation was led by Ali Mohammed Rajab - Vice President for Regulatory and International Affairs of the General Administration of Civil Aviation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. As a result of the two-day negotiations, the "Air Transport Agreement" was initialed The ceremony was also attended by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Poland H.E. Saad Saleh Alsaleh.
The agreement, once signed and entered into force, will lay the groundwork for scheduled air transportation on routes between Poland and Saudi Arabia. The timing of the signing and subsequent entry into force of the Agreement, is subject to the completion by each party of its internal procedures necessary to obtain approval for the signing and subsequent implementation of the Agreement. As agreed by the parties, the air carriers of both countries, as of today, i.e. July 29 this year, may operate charter flights, after fulfilling the formal requirements provided for in the national regulations of each party.
