On 28 August, we celebrate Polish Aviation Day – a special day for the entire aviation community. It was established to commemorate the historic victory of Captain Pilot Franciszek Żwirko and Aviation Engineer Stanisław Wigura in the 1932 International Tourist Aircraft Competition (Challenge 1932) in Berlin.
This is a special date in the history of Polish aviation. It reminds us of the achievements of generations of Polish aviators and their courage, knowledge, professionalism and determination. The success of Żwirko and Wigura became a symbol of outstanding aviation skills and a source of pride. Their achievement continues to inspire successive generations of aviation professionals and enthusiasts.
